IRELAND, Wicklow Mountains

WHERE IS WILLIAM WALLACE?

We were really happy we got the rental car come our beautiful drive through the Wicklow Mountains where we made our way back to the castle after a very explorative day out in the Ireland country. They called the road we took from Glendanlough to Straffan “Braveheart Road”. They filmed parts of the movie Braveheart in Wicklow county where we drove – Go Figure right, William Wallace was SCOTTISH Not Irish – but the movie execs must have determined it to be prettier in Ireland. The only thing we were missing on that sunset drive home was the soundtrack playing in the background. It was beautiful and quite resemblant of Vermont. Justin’s grandmother was certainly right in her comparison of Ireland & Vermont – they could be twins ☺ So another episode of "LOST" peeked itself in our car….once the night sky began to fall upon the big beautiful green mountains we were having a hard time finding our way back to the castle. We stopped for some dinner then eventually without straying off the road we were supposed to be on we saw the castle in the distance – ah, “castle sweet castle” – we made it home (after questioning ourselves many times – is this right? I think we were supposed to turn left back there….it was getting stressful again & we were having flashbacks of the day before when we first arrived!).

Go figure, my camera battery died unexpectedly (something was going on, it only held a charge for 4 hours) and i didn't come prepared that day with my back up battery - i was kicking myself!

So Unfortunately no photos to share of our Wicklow Mountain drive.

Well, that is poo poo about your battery dying. But you will always have the memories. It sounded beautiful!
